Work Progress on The Options Simulator
It’s been a busy week and there is also much more work with the simulator as I have expected. I decided to add more features on the way. Apart from that all that small details that you normally don’t think about consume pretty much time and energy, too.
Here’s a small screenshot, everything you see is pretty much self-explanatory. There are a few other dialogs that are switched off right now, I don’t want to show them… yet
There are already a bunch of features. It’s a fun thing to play with, although I didn’t add the main graphical simulation module yet. I can already let this thing calculate chances and possible profits though
You’ll be able to save your simulations, too. Of course.
Alright, back to work! Stay tuned! ![]()

I made a Greasemonkey script to mash finance.yahoo with your online options calculator.
Since the web calculator is offline the script no longer works. Here is what I did, in case you are interested in making the integration work again, or in some other way.
Requires:
Firefox
Greasemonkey add on for Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748
Script:
http://datasurfer.googlepages.com/straddlecalcyahoo.user.js
Example Page:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/os?s=LEH
Instructions:
Choose the radio buttons matching the strike prices you want to model.
Change the other fields as desired.
Click the Calculate! button
I made one for Morningstar Options as well, but it didn’t work all the time

Thanks for the script and info, DataSurfer! I don’t plan to reactivate the online version of the options calculator, but I may integrate a similar functionality in the Options Simulator at some point!
